Shadow and Act Films, a joint venture between the popular black cinema blog Shadow and Act and CEI Media Partners, launched Round 4 of the Shadow And Act Digital Filmmaker Showcase.  The Showcase is an online short film competition where viewers vote for their favorite films and the winning filmmakers receive cash prizes.

Round 4 adds seven (7) new films to the Showcase line-up including: NICK OF TIME from Eric Haywood, who was chosen to participate in the 2012 Disney/ABC Television Writing Program; Enrico Parenti’s ZEWDU, about a child street vendor shot on location in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Matthew Frederick’s FULL CIRCLE; Student Emmy Award-winner UNDERGROUND from Akil DuPont and Rashaad Ernesto Green’s CUTS. These films will join popular entries carried over from prior rounds including HUG (Khary Jones), IN THE WIND (Martin Papazian), MEN IN LOVE (Keith Davis) and LOO$E CHANGE (Mykwain Gainey). Each qualifying round winner receives $1,000 and the final round grand prize winner receives an additional $4,000. Winners will be determined by the number of votes they receive in each round.  Among non-winning entries, one film will be announced as the popular winner at the end of the season based on cumulative votes received and awarded $1,000.  Round 4 will end on July 13, 2012 and a winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
